This weekend, Damian, DAPS producer Don Arangio, and I hit up the BAM Cinema Festival for the NYC premiere of Mike Birbiglia’s Sleepwalk With Me. The film which is an adaptation of the comedian’s book and one man show of the same name, is the semi-autobiographical story of Birbigs’ personal difficulties with REM behavior disorder, relationships, becoming a comedian, hovering jackals, bears, and winning the gold at the dustbuster olympics.
After some toying around with the audio, we decided that it would be fun to see what reverse dubstep is actually like. We took Skrillex’s “First of the Year” and flipped that shit.
Star Wars and Star Trek, who can tell the two apart? Right?! They’re just nerdy nerd things for nerds. I bet if you switched up the openings and theme songs, nobody would even be able to tell the difference. Stupid nerds are stupid, LOL!
If I could only propose to one of them, it’d be the red ranger. Which ranger would you boys wife up?
Prince and Instagram, it’s a marriage made in heaven. Honestly, I’m surprised nobody’s done it yet. Alas, now it exists. Ya snooze, ya lose.
In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a pretty big Mets fan, and make sure that’s known on DAPS. You should also note that over the past five years, it’s been pretty crappy out there for a Met fan. That’s why the fine people at scraps have created an be-all-end-all solution.
Have you ever wondered how mass media and big corporations come to some of the horrible decisions that they do? I mean, if not for people like Bill Murray, we’d be inundated by crap like Ghostbusters 3.
We all know that the “Shit _____ Say” videos are getting a bit tired. Knowing that, however, didn’t stop us from making one of our own. Not only are we doing the least original thing you can do on the internet (see: jumping on a trend), but we were also lazy about it.
Every Simpsons fan does it, even if they don’t realize they’re doing it. We uses lines from the iconic sitcom in everyday conversation, regularly. Without blatantly making a reference or looking to get laughs from someone, the words once uttered by Bart or Homer are now ours.
I’ve been updating you guys on the progress of The7Line’s “12 Months of Orange and Blue” calendar since June. Finally, this Saturday night 12/3/11 (tomorrow), the Queens based T-Shirt operation is having their big release party over at McFaddens (one of our favorite Manhattan watering holes) starting at 9pm.
