Eric Demeusy’s Short Film Shows What Happened To Boba Fett After “Return of the Jedi”

Boba Fett is easily one of the most popular Star Wars characters, so it’s pretty obvious that the bounty hunter would be the subject of many fan-made creations. A lot of the time those creations aren’t very good, but occasionally, in the vastness of the internet, you get something pretty great. For example, above you see a short film speculating what may have happened to ol’ Boba after the events of Return of the Jedi.

The clip, called “Star Wars: The New Republic Anthology,” was created by a bright young filmmaker named Eric Demeusy, whose work you’ve probably already seen. Demeusy was the animator responsible for the end-title sequence in Guillermo del Toro’s 2013 kaiju-royale, Pacific Rim, as well as contributions towards HBO’s Game of Thrones

Here’s how the short is described in it’s Vimeo description:

After being trapped for 30 years in the Great Pit of Carkoon, infamous bounty hunter Boba Fett makes a death defying escape and finds himself aiding the rise of the Rebellion’s plan for a New Republic.

For those of you into that kind of thing, Demeusy also created a behind-the-scenes clip which shows the painstaking effort and attention to detail that went into making ‘New Republic’. (Not to mention, you can see set photos on his official website. They really thought of everything.)

If any Lucasfilm/Disney execs are reading this, you guys should probably hire this dude. We want to see more!
