How To Make Homemade Ecto-Cooler

It’s Ecto-Cooler. It’s magic. And now, you can make it in your own home!

How To Make Homemade Ecto-Cooler

According to GB Fans all you need are the following:

  • 1 Packet Flavor Aid Orange
  • 1 Packet Flavor Aid Tangerine [Ed. Note: we used Kool-Aid brand Orange and Tangerine packets and it worked fine]
  • 3/4 Cup Orange Juice (No Pulp)
  • 3/4 Cup Tangerine Juice/1 can mashed Mandarin Oranges
  • 1/3 scoop Countrytime Lemonade (Reg or Pink)
  • 1 3/4 Cups Sugar
  • Green food coloring for color.

From there, we’ll let you check out this way too-long and unfunny video which explains in detail how to combine those ingredients:

This recipe seemed almost too-good to be true, so, this past weekend, a bunch of us DAPS guys got together to make some for ourselves and this was the result.

A tad darker than the original Ecto-Cooler, but it’s the taste that matters and while it was just OK warm, through the magic of refrigeration, after a nice sit in the icebox, it was the real deal. Perhaps a teeny-tiny bit off, varying on the ingredient amounts you personally use when making a gallon of the stuff, but you’ll know if you’ve got it when it hits your tongue.

So to recap: Ecto-Cooler was awesome. It’s now gone. But you can make it yourself for under $15.
