Media Collective, Wisecrack, Explains The Philosophy Of Rick and Morty

Rick and Morty is one of the most intelligent series on television. Paired with (many) jokes about butts, or balls or butts and balls, is an awareness of the deepest subject matter possible. Creators Dan Harmon (Community) and Justin Roiland (Adventure Time) draw from the likes of Nietzsche and Camus to paint a picture of existence that most cartoons (or live-action series) simply never explore.

This great clip was produced by media collective, Wisecrack, a group that produces interesting videos about various pop-culture subjects, which are posted on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Specifically this R&M video is part of their “8 Bit Philosophy” Series. Other subjects tackled by Wisecrack include The Philosophy of Fallout and The Hidden Meaning of Frozen.

Rick and Morty is currently in between seasons, but can be streamed on Adult Swim’s website.
