WATCH: Celebrating The Nintendo Wii’s Classic Music With Jazz Covers

With the release of the Nintendo Switch less than two weeks away, YouTuber insaneintherainmusic, felt like it was a great time to pay homage to one of Nintendo’s other classic consoles. That’s right, the Nintendo Wii‘s Mii Channel theme is finally getting the Jazz cover it deserves! It’s been so long, that you might not remember just how popular the Nintendo Wii actually was. When it was released in 2006, there was so much demand for the game-changing system that it was a challenge to buy one for nearly two years. As of March 31, 2016, the Wii has sold 101.63 million consoles worldwide. That’s a lot of people to get these catchy tunes stuck in their heads.

Along with the Wii’s Mii channel theme, insaneintherain also did a cover of that infamous Wii Shop music. So nice of him, right?:

insaneintherainmusic‘s YouTube channel has been dedicated to arranging Jazz covers of video game music since 2012. He’s also jazzed up versions of Pokémon Sun & Moon: Gladion Battle Theme and the Rainbow Road theme from Mario Kart.  On the channel’s main page he explains, “If you’re a gamer, a musician, or someone who’s searching for video remixes to use in their videos, you’ve just found your perfect little corner of the internet! I upload jazz covers and remixes of all your favorite video game tunes every Saturday at 9:30 Pacific Standard Time.”
